Probes
Shown
on the Right is the 10 MHz extended sector probe. This probe is designed to provide optimal imaging of
small, superficial lesions, organs, or vessels in the 1-3 cm range. The 10X probe can
be used with burr holes or limited access incisions. Its intended uses are for following small, deep incisions in spine, brainstem, and pediatric
neurosurgical applications.
The 7 mHz sector probe is the most popular selection for general usage. It
covers the imaging range of 2 to 6 cm and is recommended for deep lesions,
peripheral arteries or vessels, and large organs. The 5 mHz sector probe
extends the imaging depth to 9 cm for imaging deep shunt placements and lesions
located within dense tissue.
An Intrascan® 15 mHz deep cavity sector probe is now available for
intraoperative ultrasound imaging during Minimal Access surgery. Now lesion
resection during transsphenoidal and spinal procedures is not limited by
preoperative CT and MRI imaging. The MAXProbe provides real-time imaging of
small (1 to 2 mm) lesions plus confirmation of their resection. This probe
provides an important advancement for neurosurgeons. The MAX Probe offers
unmatched high resolution imaging for:
-
Transsphenoidal pituitary tumors and cysts
-
Brain stem AVM's and tumors
-
Spinal syrinx, cysts and tumors, vertebrectomy, and bone resection
-
Trauma debridement

The Model
IC-2 System Cart was designed to house the complete Intrascan® System. It places
the WS-300 console and keypad at the appropriate height for use by the operator
while allowing a separate 17-inch SVGA monitor to be positioned for optimum
viewing by the surgeon. There is ample storage for probes and probe drapes,
keyboard and service manuals, biopsy guides, and other accessories plus a shelf
to accomodate a video printer and/or VCR. The IC-2 System Cart allows the
Intrascan® System to be moved to another site easily and quickly and still
occupy only minimal floorspace in the O.R.
